“You speak of the Devourer daemon?”

A guttural roar echoed from the portal as a grotesque two-legged monstrosity lumbered through. The Rift had sunk its infection deep into whatever daemon this had once been. A single, giant eye was attached where the head used to be. Pulsing tubes carried glowing fluid to various body parts, including a fleshy orifice on its right arm that contained thick green tendrils. The other hand held a saw-toothed sword with spinning blades. It waddled toward its queen, and I believe I could hear its stomach rumbling.

Furious at having to leave his position in Hell, Yanluo Wang is on a rampage with his cursed royal guard, sending heroic souls to his level of Hell to await his return where they will have to endure his wrath for eternity.

Journey to Sang-La

This week we have the Journey to Sang-La themed avatars! Bajie was originally a commander in charge of the hundred-thousand strong heavenly military fleet. Due to certain negligences, the prominent leader was removed from his post. After the tactless character also had the audacity to make a pass at the goddess of the moon, Chang'e, the Jade Emperor was left with no other choice than to banish him to the realm of the mortals on earth. He now joins his Master Tangseng on the Journey to Sang-La.

Shaolin was the favourite disciple of Grand master in the Shaolin Monastery, hidden away amongst the tranquillity of cherry blossoms in the Sang-La mountains where is it rumoured that one will be able to attain immortality through constant meditation and by following the righteous path. After taken an oath to protect the Monastery where his Master was taken and killed by daemons, Shaolin has now undertaken the role to rid evil off in the world.

Young Lin and her pet panda Zhen Zhen were banished from their village beyond the Sang-La Mountains after their true natures came forth to defend against a Hellbourne attack. Lin and her tiny bear transformed into ferocious panda warriors, embodiments of an ancient magic rooted in the bamboo forests where the exiled Lin and Zhen Zhen raised each other. Now they're called to defeat the daemons who ravaged their homeland, in the hope they can return it to its peaceful state.

Garena Announces HoN Tour South East Asia 2013

Heroes of Newerth's most historical tournament launches in Soutth East Asia with a $100,000 prize pool

(South East Asia, Singapore) - July 1, 2013 – Following the success of the Garena Star League in Thailand, Garena has announced the launch of HoN Tour South East Asia, a 6 months core intensive eSports tournament for the popular game Heroes of Newerth with a prize pool of more than $100,000 SGD.

HoN Tour South East Asia will be open to all players and will be featuring four cycles that will run from July 2013 to January 2014. The tournament will start off with a Qualifier to first seed players into one of three Divisions depending on their skill level: G-League, Division 1 and Division 2. Each team will then have to work their way up the tier for the different rankings and prize pool range respectively with G-League having the highest. Each Division will have an individual prize pool that will encourage more chances of winning cash for each team in all three Divisions.

HoN Tour South East Asia will be the first global step to officially introduce the HoN eSports scene in South East Asia competitively together with all the other regions – North American and Europe, Latin America and Commonwealth of Independent States. Teams from these regions will have to compete in their own regional divisions and host their respective National Finals. Winners of the National Finals will go on to fight for ultimate victory at the International Finals of which is to be confirmed.
